Ode to Antoine (body on bedsheet) is a shadow of time, a haunting echo that resurfaces each time I lay to rest. The installation is an intimate confrontation, a moment suspended between past and present. Here the body is displayed moving in moments of fear, bound to the bed by its own memory. It speaks of vulnerability, loss of agency, and subjugation. Words exchanged with former lover turned rapist, Antoine, linger alongside the contours of my body. Each mark is a trace of violence, a way to name the unspeakable and give it form. This piece invites the viewer to witness the rawness and trauma of the body as both a site of destruction and resilience.
